Hearty Winter Pea Soup

This classic Dutch winter dish will warm your heart as you weather through the cold seasons.

    Cut the carrots into slices, peel the potatoes and slice into cubes. Add the peas, carrots, potatoes and the water into a cooking pan. Add salt to your liking.

    Put it to boil and leave for one hour.

    Salt the chicken and put in a separate cooking pan to boil. Leave simmering for 20 minutes.

    Grind the soup and use a sieve to sift out bigger pieces depending on how you like your soup.

    Add the stock cubes.

    Cut the chicken into pieces, cut the smoked sausage into slices. Add both to the soup.

    Once the soup has cooled, put it in the fridge and leave there for one night to thicken.
