Grandma’s Russian Pudding
A unique take on the famous german pie done on the stove to save you the time and effort
Ingredients for 4-6 portions
Instructions
-
1
Decorate the bottom and sides of the bowl with the ladyfingers. Build the sides up laying the ladyfingers horizontally on top of each other. Cover the ladyfingers with jam using the back of a spoon.
-
2
Split the yolk from the eggwhite and whisk the eggwhite to a fluffy consistency.
-
3
Heat up the milk on medium to high heat. Make sure the milk does not boil. Once it starts to bubble add the fluffy eggwhite. Leave it for a couple of minutes, then use a spatula to remove the egg white without dipping it in the milk. Gently put the egg white on the bottom of the bowl, on top of the lady fingers.
-
4
Boil the milk, once it starts to rise, add custard slowly while stirring to prevent lumps from forming. Keep stirring for a minute.
-
5
Pour it into one side of the bowl so that the custard slowly goes under the egg white and pushes it gently up without mixing through it. If the custard does cover the eggwhite, you can sprinkle it with sugar to prevent the eggwhite from melting.
-
6
Once finished pooring, put the bowl in fridge to cool.
