Egyptian Basbousa
Mouth-watering Middle Eastern Basbousa cake with a soft crumb and a hint of coconut, drizzled with a luscious syrup for an indulgent dessert.

Preheat the oven to 175°C.

In a bowl, mix the semolina and flour. Add the butter and mix well with your hands.

In another bowl, combine the sugar, coconut, and baking powder. Mix well.

Add the yoghurt and 2 tbsp of milk to the dry ingredients. Mix well until thoroughly combined.

Grease a baking pan with butter and spread the mixture evenly into the pan.

Cut the cake into vertical strips, then diagonally to serve.

Bake for 35-40 minutes.

Pour the syrup over the basbousa.
