Dutch Red Cabbage Beef & Onion Stew
This long slow cooking recipe produce super tender meat and a rich sauce with wonderful depth of flavor.

Melt 50g butter in a sauce pan. Cut the meat into cubes and roast in the pan.

Chop the onions into small pieces and add it to the pan along with 2 bay leaves and 4 cloves. Add salt to your liking. Leave to stew at least two hours. Add cornstarch if the stew needs thickening.

Grind the red cabbage with a blender. Add to a cooking pan along with 50g butter. Once melted add water till cabbage is fully covered. Add 2 bay leaves, 2 cloves and salt to your liking. Put to boil.

Add the sugar and vinegar. Put on low heat and leave it simmering for at least an hour. Taste and add more sugar to your liking.

Peel the potatoes. Add to a cooking pan and put to boil. Leave to simmer for 20 minutes. Add salt to your liking.
